I agree that events are stresstests. I really like the rewards and that's why I put up with them (I would probably do anything for more SP) but damn: These kill events really get to me. Because they add a new level of frustration. A Kill Assist suddenly isn't something I don't care about anymore. Suddenly a Kill Assist becomes a defeat.

And a few hundred kills may not seem much when you can do them with equipment of your choice, but during these events the weapon or suit you have to use is predetermined. To get the 375 kills for the last event I blew about 10 - 15 million ISK. And I only used advanced gear. I probably died at least 500 times.

It also rewards being egoistic: Running in front of your teammates to make sure they can't hit a target. Trying your hardest to steal kills. During these events you become a liability for your squad an your team.

I think this has to change. Events like kill events should be community events as long as we only have PvP. Of course you don't have to be as generous as you were during the last community event (I won't stop you, but giving every player 2 - 3 Million SP would probably be overkill). But something like "For every kill done over the weekend with Suit X / Weapon Y every player gets 100SP, Boosters do not apply, capped at Z SP" would be fine. This is how I would want to see events play out. It doesn't take away from the teamplay and it also doesn't add a new rage factor to the game. Quite contrary: Should you get killed with a mentioned weapon you can think "Well, at least I contributed to the event in some way!"

These events which force you personally to achieve a certain amount of kills with a certain equipment are something you can reintroduce when we have PvE. Because PvE I then could always do alone or with some friends. Much less of a rage factor.

I dont know if anyone knows me or If anything I say is worth reading Id like to think it is .Id like to think that people have seen me for so long that they either hate me or like me yet they know I played Amarr logi since the suit was introduced and all the way until 1.8.Now getting past the hate part or those that are just generally negative to anything I say .Id like to speak my mind on the current state of Logi's and why I think any type of event for them UNFORTUNATELY is a waste of time.

CCP makes money off you buying Aurum/suits/weapons.They track all data from kill feeds.they've been doing this since closed beta.They do events to get you to skill new weps or suits and they're OP when first released to get the player base to buy boosters to skill them .they have kept damage and ranges out of our sight until release in the past , but we all know by now how this works and we call them FOTM's (flavor of the month)I agree with CCP changing the Drop suit command tree.I understand why they did it. To bring it more in line with how EVE is.In EVE if you fly a Caldari ship you cant put lasers on it, and vice versa in regards to Amarr ships cant have rails.I suspect CCP will do that some where down the line because this is how they operate.

Back to 1.8 being released I knew after skilling all the equipment, and I mean all of it to level 5 when CCP decided that only racials would get certain types. I knew what they were doing. Eventually you would need to skill all logi suits.I knew they would nerf all equipment so that all racial bonus's would calculate under the then current values and so thus nothing would change.I knew with all the memory leaks in the research socket that this new cloak would be garbage and act like garbage with the "****" frame rate of that socket. Ive lost half ehp to CR's from people who were still "predator" that were firing at me.

It was written on the walls. All logi's going side arm only. Taking the survive ability out of the suit because after all we heal people and revive people and see that effects the bottom line as far as Aurum sales. CCP has made us pay more in ISK by making modules more expensive tha the suit. Do you remember when they did that ? So then If you were carrying 4 equipment you were dying with alot more monetary loss. I hated the brick logi's dont get me wrong and that needed to change, but what CCP is out of their league on is the way FPS players break mechanics. I think they underestimated the creativity of the player base and how far some people will go to win..

Seeing the signs knowing that scout shotgun would be FOTM. Knowing how much my suit cost. Knowing the community. Knowing the player bases mentality . Knowing that people were already throwing RE's again which CCP said they fixed and at one point did and yet cant put a ******* wheel like a hack wheel when arming them. That cloaked scrubs would be throwing them. Knowing that when CCP decided they would hear this and change it but way after people took serious hits to there KDR months down the road. So why skill it ? Why be that guy ? Why just troll people ? With ***** tactics and broke features ? Not my style. Knowing how buggy the frame rate can be.

I walked away from logi.

Because why in the hell would I play it now? Amarr an armor race their logi doesn't carry or get bonus's to fixing armor? Hmm well that makes sense. Why loose a suit that cost 220k to be shot by a broke animation?

The LOGI is dead and has and will be quietly put into a notch much like the miner in EVE. It'll just farm.

Now that I've been playing EVE for about a year now you start to see the similarities.Logi ships in EVE have no weapons.That doesnt work for me in a FPS. Now I still have all the equipment and this SP in Drop suit upgrades and can still do those Logi things. If they're needed. But they all got nerfed for me simultaneously as I no longer have a racial logi suit. Am I mad at CCP or jaded ? No I just now have a clear understanding of what time it is.DUST 514 is a grindfest and no piece of equipment/suit or weapon will be what it is today.We will all perpetually grind the same maps for eternity. CCP will release "shineys" and this will go on for however long this game is online.As this cycle continues it teaches me one thing. That in a genre where stats are supposed to mean something in this game stats mean nothing at all. as you are constantly inundated with the latest gimmick. I'd like to say I think this game has a point. That it has relevance but I cant tell you that. Because I dont know what it's point is anymore or who's driving the bus.
